Why Depth?
A depth-centered approach is one that goes beyond skimming the surface, and instead aims to dig in, to plumb the depths, to explore the deep end, and to profoundly examine the ways in which current systems are getting in the way of progress and prosperity.
The Design 4 Depth approach celebrates coherent organizational systems that are humanized and disrupt inequities by applying deep thinking principles.
3 Pillars of a Humanized System
These are the foundational elements that support a humanized system.
Pillar 1 – Design4Depth: The D4D Framework builds awareness of how current systems are antiquated and that the organization in itself can perpetuate inequities and hamper holistic transformational change that sticks! Holistic transformational systemic change disrupts the status quo by facing biases, micro-aggressions and isms head on and creating counter narratives and reflective systems that support ALL humans.
Pillar 2 – Design4Learning: Humanized organizational systems must be inherently reflective and representative of the cultures and realities of those it serves so ongoing assessment of new learning needs and a commitment to design for ongoing learning is essential.
Pillar 3 – Design4Wellbeing: Recognizes that the full range of the human condition is present in our organizational systems and needs to be accepted and nourished as part of inclusive holistic transformational systemic change that leverages diverse creativity. The humans within our organizational systems need to be met where they are to optimize their best, healthy selves.
